History

A history of our firm would be incomplete without an understanding of the principles upon which GenWealth is founded.  Owners John Shrewsbury and Janet Walker believe that financial planning and guidance are essential to financial success.  John and Janet come from working-class families and understand that money matters are often confusing to most people.  Turning those complex issues of retirement, investments and your money into simple, understandable concepts has been at the forefront of both their careers.

In 2005, the opportunity arose for John and Janet to form their own firm. It was their desire to make GenWealth an independent firm that worked for the client and not a large corporate entity.  GenWealth is a Registered Investment Advisor, registered with the state of Arkansas.  That registration means that the firm has a fiduciary responsibility to work on your behalf.  In other words, our legal duty is to work in your best interest.

In 2008, we expanded our operations to serve the retirement community of Hot Springs Village by opening a branch location inside the community at 1400 DeSoto Blvd.  The expansion allowed our firm to serve the largest private, gated community in America.

More expansion was in store in 2010 as GenWealth responded to growth of our business in the Lonoke County area by opening a branch in the community of Lonoke, which also serves clients in Cabot, Carlisle, Stuttgart and other points east of Little Rock.

It is our vision for the future to establish branches in select locations in Central Arkansas. Our goal: To make our common-sense strategies available to an ever-growing group of Arkansans who need to “Get Ready for the Future! ®”
