What do I need to prepare before my appointment?

When do I need to begin focusing on retirement planning and meeting with a financial advisor about it?

One of the most frequent mistakes is waiting until you are at retirement age to begin planning for retirement.  We recommend that you begin the planning process 5-10 years ahead to your projected retirement date in order to align your portfolio for the transition from accumulation to income distribution.

Where are your offices located?

Our home office is in Bryant, just southwest of Little Rock.  We also have branch offices in Lonoke and Hot Springs Village.  Simply click the town for directions.

How are you different from my current advisor?

As a Registered Investment Advisor, GenWealth acts on a fiduciary basis with our clients.  That means that we are required by law to act in your best interest at all times.  Most stockbrokers and insurance agents are required only to sell products that are “suitable” to their clients and are often times obligated to act in the interest of their firm before their client.  Also, we use a planning process that begins with an evaluation of your situation, then make a recommendation based on what we believe is the best course of action.

How much does the first appointment cost?

There is never any charge for the initial consultation with a GenWealth advisor.  If it is mutually agreed that we work together, then you can choose the method by which we are compensated. We offer a brokerage platform where our firm is compensated by commission from the product providers we use in your plan.

We also offer an advisory platform where you are charged no commissions, but are charged an advisory fee of 1.5% annually based on the assets we manage for you.  This fee is discounted for accounts in excess of 1 million dollars. Some products are offered only on a brokerage basis; others are available only through an advisory account.

If you only want our financial planning services and would like to do your own investing, our services begin with a base fee of $500.00 and $100.00/hour for in depth planning. An estimate of the total charge for your plan will be outlined in a financial planning agreement signed at the time of engagement. Click here to view our Financial Planning Agreement.

Is there a way for me to meet you before I schedule an appointment?

GenWealth conducts a number of public workshops, seminars and other meetings for educational purposes and to allow you to get to know us.  These sessions are available at no charge and often involve question and answer sessions.  Telephone visits with an advisor are also available by appointment.  Click here to see our current schedule of events or to register for an upcoming event.

I’m widowed or not married; can my adult child attend the appointment with me?

We encourage anyone who needs the advice or counsel of a family member to bring them to their appointment.  We welcome the opportunity for clarity of our recommendations to all those concerned about your financial future.
